The Building Amendment Act 2012 was a result of a comprehensive review of the Building Act 2004, and was aimed at lifting the overall performance of the building and construction sector. Certain building work is now deemed to be restricted and this means that this work can only be under taken by competent, appropriately licensed building practitioners.
